Thankful Birthday!

As we conclude this festive thanksgiving season, I have so much to be thankful for. There is the usual like friends, family, food, a job, a roof of my head, clothes to wear, health, money in the bank account. But this year is a little different from the rest. I have so much to be grateful for.

It's not even noon and this is my day so far:

Okay, I did have class this morning at 7-9am but that's nothing out or the ordinary. I come home to a beautiful but sleepy wife. I get changed, she wakes up and the day starts.

First thing: Alyssa makes me breakfast.

She placed chocolate chips inside which showed my age, 25.
Yes, my wife keeps reminding me that it's
1/4 of a CENTURY.

Alyssa got me some t shirts. I'm fond of plain t shirts and this is one of 'em she got me. Oh, and the miracle worker which I like to call a foot massager (but I secretly think she bought it for herself).

From the rest of the family I received some other cool gifts: pocketknife, tie, white shirt
I'm not sure what's wrong with the white shirt I have had used since 2005 :)

For lunch I believe Alyssa will be taking me to my favourite restaurant.
Yes, I do love steaks!

There is more to post because the best is yet to come!

Sweet potato pie!

Baby size this week:
My size this week:

This baby is definitely growing. Its so neat to see the changes every week through the pictures. I don't really notice it until I compare the pictures we take each week. 2 weeks & we find out the sex. Don't forget to vote on our poll for what you think we're having (its on the right hand side of the blog!)

Fun facts:
-baby is kicking, rolling, twisting and punching....all I can feel are flutters, for now!
-baby can yawn, hiccup, swallow and suck.

Marriage Proposal

Guys, if you have been dating your girlfriend for awhile and you have come to realize that she is the one and it's that time in your life that you have finally convinced yourself that yes, the girl you want to annoy and tease for the rest of your life then here is a way you can propose to her...

Can you top that?

If not, here are some other suggestions:
  1. Take out a full-page ad in a newspaper you know your girlfriend reads daily.
  2. Arrange a surprise proposal with a street caricaturist. Have him sketch a picture of you two with word bubbles. Yours will read, "Will you Marry Me?", and hers will say, "Yes!"
  3. Pay the divers at an aquarium to put on a proposal show inside their biggest fish tank. Give them handwritten signs that say "Will You Marry Me?" to hold up against the glass.
  4. Send your girlfriend on a treasure hunt. Start with a clue at home, then send her on a tour of your favorite spots all over town. When she gets to the last hint, the prize should be you on one knee.
  5. Go out for a night of dancing, and ask the DJ or band leader to pass you the mic so that you can dedicate a song and propose on the dance floor.
  6. Have a friend or family member set up a picnic -- complete with cheese and crackers, or course -- for you in a park. Take your girlfriend for a hike on a route where you'll stumble upon this surprise "Proposal Picnic."
  7. Hire a skywriter to spell your proposal for everyone around to see.
  8. Flying anytime soon? Use the plane's loud-speaker system (of course, run your plan by the flight attendants first) and propose at 35,000 feet.
  9. Movie buffs? Ask your neighborhood theater to run an ad featuring your proposal and make sure you get there in time for the previews.
  10. Gather a bunch of your friends and family for a party. Have everyone in attendance put on a T-shirt bearing one of the letters in the phrase "Will You Marry Me?" When you walk in the room with your girlfriend, suggest a group picture and let the shirts speak for themselves.
Good Luck! :)

oh so thankful Tuesdays...11/15

Friends. I've said this before, but I am extremely grateful for my girlfriends. Cassie, Brittany and Mindy. We've known each other for so long and even after years of being away from each other we still are what we used to be. I can't wait to see them next week!!

Somewhere to go for the holidays. We're having Thanksgiving at Grammie's house and Christmas at home in California. I am so thankful we don't have to spend the holidays by ourselves!

The Holidays. Our Christmas tree is already up :) We'll probably get around to actually decorating it this weekend. I love the feeling of the holidays, the music, the food and the happiness!!

Sleep. I've never been so in need of it in my life. Chris thinks I sleep more than I should, but I just look at it as helping the baby grow. ;)

Pinterest. It inspires my craftiness.... now I just need to learn how to sew!!

Date Night: Baby It's Cold Outside

Christmas is my FAVORITE time of the year. The decorations, music and holiday cheer are the best! It's starting to get super cold here in Rexburg so when I found this idea for our date night I knew I had to do it. I got the idea from The Dating Divas (of course), you can find their version here.

We started the date when I picked Chris up from work. I gave him this invite & brought him a change of clothes.

So we ate somewhere we've never tried before. I've read about this place, and heard it was really good...and it was! Frostop Drive-in in Ashton, Idaho.

Once we were done eating we drove home and I had Chris wait in the car for about 5 minutes so I could go inside and set everything up. When he got to the door, he found this invite.

I made caramel apple bites (if you decide to do that, don't leave them in the fridge for too long, the caramel melts off), we had hot chocolate & super good chocolate covered graham crackers!

The apartment was decorated with snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, a strand of lights by the window & a fake fireplace on my laptop.

We cuddled up on the floor with some blankets and pillows.

And watched A Christmas Carol.

Chris even decided to rock his Halloween socks. Thanks mom & dad!

While we were watching the movie, I got a call from my sister telling me to look outside. I looked...it was SNOWING! I wasn't kidding, baby it's cold outside!!
